I don’t remember where I first saw the 100 Facts About Me post idea to give them credit. But when I saw it I thought it looked fun! I didn’t realize that it would also be so hard, y’all! It took me awhile, working on it here and there to write all of these facts out. But it did bring up a lot of great memories!
I hope you enjoy reading these 100 Facts About Me.
I wanted to be a missionary in my early Twenties. I was even going to go to Bible School.
I lived at home until I was 33. Mom and Dad were never in a hurry for me and my Sister to move out. And living at home allowed me to travel the world.
I didn’t have my first kiss until I was 21. A fact that used to embarrass me, but now I’m like “How silly!” Everyone has a different story.
I built my first website on Chickpages in 1999. It was mostly about Winnie the Pooh.
I also built a Nancy Drew fan site.
I taught my self HTML and wrote my own code for my websites in Notepad.
I love to write but for some reason I was resistant to start a blog but…
I started my blog The Geeky Shopaholic in 2010. I even designed my own WordPress theme and everything!
I didn’t start driving until I was 18. I failed my first driving test, because I almost backed over the instructor. True story.
I love marathoning TV shows. I’d rather do that than watch shows live each week.
When I’m really focused on something, I can tune everything out. Someone can scream my name and I wouldn’t hear it. This has actually happened. More than once.
My sister and I are two years apart, but people often think that we’re twins.
I’ve been keeping journals since I was 11 years old. I wrote all the time, and I was always making up stories in my head.
The first book I ever read The Little Green Frog by Beth Coombe Harris, which I read for school.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was my favorite fairy tale growing up.
Nancy Drews were my favorite books when I was in middle school.
I also loved The Baby-sitters Club and Sweet Valley High.
I’ve read the Bible through 10 times. Most of those were when I was younger but I’ve read it through 4 times since 2021.
My sister and I were homeschooled
Before that we attended a Christian school.
I was part of a our church’s young girls singing group, The Trinity Girls.
My first job was as a Nanny.
My second job was at Walmart where I spent 20 years. I thought it was just going to be temporary when I started.
I can drive a forklift.
My husband and I met because I hired him to work for me.
My wedding band says “Together forever” and his says “Through time and space.”
We both love Doctor Who, if you couldn’t guess.
My Doctor is Eleven. His is Ten.
We have two dogs, Buffy and Riker and a cat, Smokey.
I started my own business as a virtual assistant in 2017.
For 3 years I worked 6 or 7 days a week to build that business to full time.
I was a HUGE Atlanta Braves fan in the 90s.
Chipper Jones and Javier Lopez were my favorite baseball player.
Charles Barkley was my favorite basketball player.
And I loved the ROCK and the Hardy Boyz in the WWE.
I get randomly obsessed with things – it’s why I know so much about random 90s sports entertainment.
I can’t throw. Anything.
I used to draw pixel graphics. They weren’t very good but I had a lot of fun!
Harry Potter fan fiction was an obsession for a while. Draco/Hermione anyone?
I travelled a lot in my 20s.
I rode a camel up Mt. Sinai.
I visited Buckingham Palace and rode the London Eye.
I rode a Gondola through Venice.
I have visited the Vatican and the Colosseum in Rome.
I saw the Parthenon in Athens.
I saw the view from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
I danced the hula on Kawaii and visited Pearl Harbor on Hawaii.
My husband and I took a boat ride on an underground lake.
I climbed a redwood tree when I was a kid. It was one that had fallen down but it counts because It was huge!
I have seen both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.
I am a terrible typist and that makes me look like a bad speller but it’s really the typing I promise.
My dog is named after Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Samwise Gamgee is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.
I actually like domestic things like meal planning, cooking, and cleaning my home.
I make the BEST peanut butter fudge.
And a pretty amazing banana pudding.
I’m a Backstreet Boys girl.
Though when I was 11, I thought I was going to marry Joey McIntyre when I grew up. NKOTB forever!
My first ever crush was Beau Duke.
I love Skyrim and have created several characters for it.
Nancy Drew Mystery games are another favorite.
And of course Hogwarts Legacy. My first character was a Ravenclaw of all things.
I’m obviously a Hufflepuff.
My sister, cousin, and I once got lost in the woods in the winter. We started planning who would play us in the TV movie.
I have 6 nieces and nephews.
I’ve been friends with the same group of girls for almost 30 years.
My comfort shows are Monk, Psych, and Poirot.
Twitter was my favorite social media platform.
I had to give it up for my mental health.
In my 20s I thought naps were a waste of time.
In my 30s I learned to appreciate them.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 18.
I have chronic hives and have started monthly shots to help maintain them.
All my life I thought I had allergies, but I’m not allergic to anything.
I have Nonallergic rhinitis.
My family and many friends call me Prue. It’s short for my middle name Prudence.
I’ve only met one other Prudence in my life.
Prue on Charmed is my favorite. Obviously.
I love Bob’s Burgers and so relate to Tina!
P!nk is my favorite singer.
Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, LM Montgomery, Ruth Ware, Lisa Jewell, Kate Morton, Agatha Christie and well so many more!
I’m one of those people who watches serial killer documentaries to relax.
I am not outdoorsy, but when I need to calm or center myself a walk outside is what helps me the most.
I feel most at peace when I’m at the beach. I an a Pisces after all.
I drove my first car for 15 years.
I don’t like change.
I had braces as an adult. It wasn’t fun but I’m glad I did it.
My favorite Bible verse is 1 Samuel 12: 24, “Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”
Since starting my business in 2017, I’ve worked with 40+ clients.
I’ve built over 30 WordPress websites for myself and my clients.
My weight has been up and down my whole life.
It is currently up.
My favorite color is yellow – though I look terrible in it.
My favorite shoes are chucks or my Roxy slide ins.
The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Lilo and Stitch are my favorite Disney movies.
I love Marvel movies. Captain America and Rocket are my favorite heros.
But Thor: Ragnorak is my favorite Marvel movie to watch.
Fall is my favorite season and October through December is my favorite time of year.
I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas so much!
My favorite Christmas gift ever was the set of Nancy Drews my Mom and Dad got me.
