What I’m Into – October 2016

This is the What I’m Into link up at Leigh Kramer’s blog. Each month we share the various things that we’ve been enjoying in our offline and online lives. Be sure to stop by and check out all the other blogs in the link up.

Celebrating

Cap and I are engaged! On, October 7th, Cap asked me to marry him and of course, I said yes! We’re both very excited and happy! I wrote all about it here.

Reading

Very little. I started The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, but I couldn’t get into it. It’s the first Agatha Christie I haven’t enjoyed. Maybe Miss Marple isn’t for me?! Or maybe I just picked a bad Miss Marple to start with? Any suggestions?

I’ve also started reading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. It’s definitely more interesting, but I’ve been sick and didn’t have the energy to read much of it. I love Kaz and his crew of misfits and thugs though so now that I’m better I plan to really speed through it!

I also ordered a new Inspector Gamache novel, A Rule Against Murder. The town of Three Pines is addictive and I miss it! I’m glad that there are several of these novels to read! Also, on my TBR is The Woman in Cabin 10 and The Couple Next Door. I’ve heard really good things about both, and I’m excited to have some good suspense novels to read!

Watching

The new season of DC Legends of Tomorrow has started and I’m loving it so far. Though I am missing a few characters that I won’t name because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else.

Cap and I are also excited about the new season of The Flash, but for some reason, it hasn’t been On Demand yet. Hopefully, it will be soon so we can get caught up!

While I was sick I watched a lot of Poirot. The last episode was so sad! I debated about even watching it because I hadn’t read the book yet, but I couldn’t resist. David Suchet is a wonderful Hercule Poirot. He’s just how I picture the Belgian detective.

Cap and I went to see Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. It was good, but not as magical and haunting as the book. I really had high hopes with Tim Burton directing. He seemed like a perfect fit.

Listening

80s Mercedes by Maren Morris, even if it does make me feel a little old.

Feel like a hard-to-get starlet when I’m driving
Turning every head, hell I ain’t even trying
Got them Ray-Ban shades pretty in pink
Call me old school but hey
I’m a nineties baby
In my eighties Mercedes

Blogging

I shared my tips how to write three posts a week without going insane and I wrote about what 16 years of retail taught me about blogging.

And for a little fun, I shared my tips on how to adult in the kitchen!

Now, what about you? What were you up to in October? Any good books or shows to recommend? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Congrats on your engagement!
This link up sounds like a lot of fun. And I do admit that I always like to get more about other bloggers. Oh, and thanks for not spoiling Legends of Tomorrow for me as I am still on season 1 🙂
